Minneapolis Auto Repair

This is honestly the first auto repair place that I've ever taken the time to write a review for, mostly because I've never felt a place really deserved it. Brought my boss' car in for an exhaust rattle. Previous dealer quoted $1300 to repair it. It turned out to be a busted exhaust hanger. Nick fixed it right there on the spot when we were inspecting the system together. Thrilled. Later the boss' car wasn't running right, and brought it back. A fuel filter later and we were back in business. I'm sure there are countless places out there that would be happy to report the problem was something out - this place definitely doesn't. Keep up the good work guys, you got my business.

Fast, friendly service. Straight forward quoting, follow up and follow through. I’ve been to both Nelson’s locations and worked directly with the owner, Nick. After nearly a decade in the Twin Cities market, with a slowly dying Jeep, I’ve found my mechanic! As a female with little knowledge/understanding of anything car related - I trust Nick to help me with the right solution without any pressure to fix more than needed. Go here – great guys and top notch service. Prices are very fair as well!

I really don't write reviews. I created a Yelp account for this one. My husband and I have been bringing our vehicles in to Nelson's for a few years now. Nick is a solid, honest mechanic. He has always gone above and beyond to help us out, and keep costs down. He will tell you straight up what needs to be done, and what can wait for a little bit. It's so refreshing to find a mechanic that tells it like it is! The work he does is solid, and the cost incredibly reasonable. Highest recommendations!

I couldn't recommend this place more. My starter went out on my car yesterday at 11:15am. I was across the street from Nelsons when this happened, and walked over there asking if it was something that could be fixed relatively quickly because I had to get to work by 330 that day. After helping me push my car across the street and into their garage, I was quoted almost immediately what it would cost and how quickly it would be done. I kid you not, I was out the door before 12:30. That is an hour and 15 minutes from completely stranded to back to my day and to work. Seriously, honest professional courteous people are running this place. I will definitely be going here for future repairs.

Finally a place I can take my car without feeling like I need an attorney with me to make sure I'm not getting screwed. Nick and crew are some of the nicest and most honest people I have dealt with when it comes to automobiles. They have on more than one occasion told me to hold off on things that didn't need to be fixed/replaced whereas I feel most other places jump the gun to make money. You will never feel like you're being viewed as a dollar sign here. Quality work with emphasis on customer satisfaction. Highly recommend.
